Today a statement was made as about 85 or so vehicles banded together to drive to Logan Utah and show some unity. Many others will be leaving a various times today. Utah State will probably still have seats for anyone who arrives today to request them. I arrived at Bronco Stadium about 8:30 and there were already about 30 plus vehicles, television and radio celebrating this history making event. It’s nothing new to have Boise State fans travel to a game, it is new however to band together in an organized caravan.
I took the time to introduce Blue Turf Nation to a few of the fans traveling and spoke at length with Louise a self proclaimed BIG fan of Boise State. She shared with me her travels to The Fiesta Bowl along with games in Washington, Oregon, Fresno and Utah. Today she was excited to be a part of the history making travel to Logan Utah. Louise is a typical Bronco fan and really joined the band wagon about 10 years ago. She can remember attending games in the 70’s during her High School years and she even shared memories a few splinters in the old stadium that went to east-west direction vs. the nort -south direction of Bronco Stadium today.
Take note BCS Bowls – Boise State travels. I personally have been to Utah, BYU, Oregon State, Washington and The Fiesta Bowl. A statement was made today and in case you were wondering the coordinator Brad Larrando and his family were right behind the Kyle Wilson #1 RV. On a side note it had been heavily discussed that there would be a police escort and I spoke with an officer. He explained to me the logistical problems of facilitating such and endeavor and said it just was not something the department was capable of doing without shutting down Broadway. But that the department dis support the efforts and the team.
Thanks Brad for putting together an event to show The BCS that Boise State is worthy!
