If it were up to a select few Boise State will be heading to the White House. It’s a time honored tradition to have the National Champions visit The White House and meet the President. This year is not unlike others and is filled with BCS controversy. This year however, at the center of the controversy revolves the undefeated Boise State Broncos. Dan Wetzel from Yahoo Sports is leading the national banter to have Boise State join Alabama with a Presidential meet and greet at The White House. A recent article from Dan outlines his thoughts.
We now have a ribbon drive, a state elected official and many more on the band wagon pushing for a Bronco Washington DC visit before thier scheduled Va Tech game next season. Interesting the support Boise State is now reaching far beyond the Treasure Valley with The Bronco Nation truly being national. In the coming days we will see just what the official position The White House will take for their annual collegiate visit this year. My suggestion is allow a visit in the fall when the team will already be in DC for their NFL sanctioned Va Tech match-up.
We may not like to BCS system and it certainly creates much to talk about around the water cooler. However it is what it is and The Tide should roll into the arms of Obama as the NCAA National Champions. Boise State will have it’s day on the White House lawn, this I am most certain of it. Today is Alabama’s time.
A message from BTN to Broncobama: Boise State would welcome a visit in the fall, in fact if you come to the game Boise State will provide you with great seats and an opportunity to share a pre-game motivational speech. As for me Mr. President, I’d love to interview you for a story in The Blue magazine.
