Dear Coach Pete,

I want you to know we appreciate you. I know when you say the play was sloppy or we need to work on ________, you are simply trying to keep the critics at bay and accept the blame. The fact is Coach, you won! We know that it was the first home game against a team that was probably hard to get excited about and the return home probably caused a distraction or two. The fact is you did the right thing by giving our future QB’s an opportunity to get some playing time. We had the game well under control and Kellen was his normal self with precision and grace.

It was the right thing to do. The gamblers in Nevada and elsewhere probably won’t agree with you, but we do. You are a Coach, a Teacher and a damn good one. Joe Southwick needs to be ready to lead and you found an opportunity to give him a taste. Against the odds of walking away with a win vs. a “pretty” win, it was great to get in the win column and focus on who’s next. I’m sure the brace on Kellen’s knee probably had something to do with the decision as well, we understand you philosophies.

Back to who’s next; It’s Nevada Coach, you know the ones that took from us the smell of Roses last year.

We as fans are with you in every decision you make, but we also have a request for this game. Win BIG! Not just big, we are talking BIG. We want no stops! There I said it. What’s the translation? Run the score up! It’s time to help the fans heal the wounds of that cold November in Reno. The one that kept us in Boise on New Years eve instead of Pasadena. We really want this game, I mean we REALLY want this game to have a score that even the ESPN naysayers can go WOW! I know this goes against your philosophy and I know that it will probably won’t happen but, it had to be said.

Refer back to the first paragraph Coach Pete, we love what you have done and we have always trusted your abilities and we rarely ask for anything other than a win. This time it’s therapeutic, it’s a necessary request. So, this time it’s not just win baby, It’s WIN BIG baby!
