I cannot believe this utterly ridiculous nonsense! I, too, waited to look at the polls and thought this was some error or not updated fully or something: http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings

I thought it was a no-brainer that Boise would be ranked number two! WTF!?!

I cannot stand that they (the BCS) continue to feed us this crap: it's always the same worn-out, nonsensical talking points.

Playoff? Why is it that I-AA (FCS) has been rocking a 16-team field for years (and expands to 20) and is done BEFORE the bowls end? There's no "impact on the student's exam schedule" or "increase in injuries" that has been reported as some kind of problem down there! And do those schools, teams, players, or coaches believe that their "regular season schedule is lessened/diminished in importance?" Finally, you CAN "keep the current bowl system intact" by using some of the bigger bowls (and their corporate sponsors) as sites for what would be playoff rounds; the other small bowls could still be played earlier (as they are now) with the teams not invited to the playoff; and the Big Dawg BCS Bowls that currently rotate (Fiesta, Orange, Rose, and Sugar) could rotate the two semi-final games and the national championship game (only every fourth year your bowl would have to host a game in the quarters... OMGosh!)

I mean it is not rocket science here as we fans truly know. Just tell 'em to take their crap off the menu... we aren't interested in ordering it or even considering it as an option any longer!

The BCS is discrimination between one sector of college athletes (football) and all other college team sports. A computer doesn't decide who get's to play in the Final Four, nor should a computer be used to determine who plays for the National Championship.

"At the moment these great universities (Boise State and TCU) are celebrating and being celebrated, some want to use it to drive a political agenda, and that's too bad," he said. "Because of the BCS, TCU and Boise State have a national stage and a primetime TV slot to showcase their success, and they deserve to enjoy the spotlight. Political smear ads have become an unwelcome part of brassknuckle politics, let's hope they don't start spreading to college football." --BCS executive director Bill Hancock

Total hypocrisy. Bill Hancock believing that this issue shouldn't be politicized? I suppose the current BCS system isn't flooded with corporate money, or profits made from TV advertising, or ticket sales at a bazillion bowl games. We should be led to believe that college football has never been subjected to mere politics? The players, coaches and fans deserve nothing less than the championship outcome being played on the gridiron. Imagine this, the winner of Alabama vs. Texas gets to play Boise State for the National Championship.

Call it what you want. I like, The Sara Lee Tidy Bowl...
