NFL Combine

If you Bronco fans didn’t know, Austin Pettis, Titus Young, Brandyn Thompson, Ryan Winterswyk, and Jeron Johnson will be in the NFL combine trying to prove that they can play in the NFL.

As of right now Titus Young is #8 out of all the Wide Receivers in this year’s draft class according to NFL draft experts ESPN. But CBS sports have Young at #9 on their board. Titus Young is expected to be drafted anywhere from the 2nd to 3rd round. But I myself think that he is a

Senior Day Focus – KYLE!

There was a game to be played the last on the Blue for the Broncos, but there were signs of something else going on and it was very clear. The signs of support were everywhere at Bronco Stadium on Saturday. “We Love Kyle!” from professional to hand made signs to the extremely and even the overly creative. The message was clear it wasn’t Lyle it was Kyle Rocks! There were several offers to buy my I (heart) Kyle Brotzman sign I received before the game during halftime in the tailgate area, one from a member of the Broncos  Softball team. I ended up giving up my sign to the Lady Bronco – free of charge. There were many Kyle Brotzman fans showing their creative ways of spreading the love; including written on items of clothing from hats to shirts. But I had to get a photo of these two fans who went all out to show KB some love! Kyle Brotzman war paint! From his introduction to the hundreds of signs to the war paint, the message was clear… Bronco fans love Kyle.

Boise State Men’s Basketball Looking To Make History

The Boise State Men’s Basketball squad is looking to make history by being the first Bronco team to ever start a season 7-0 as they face Long Beach State this Sunday at 2:05PM in Taco Bell Arena.

The Broncos have won every home game this season by an average margin of 22.6 points per game and only one opponent has scored more than 55 points so far.

On top of that, the Broncos are sitting at #39 in the latest Real Time RPI rankings.

Boise State Football fans attending Saturday’s game against Utah State bring your ticket stubs to the TBA box office starting at 12:30PM on Sunday before the basketball game and if you buy one adult single ticket, you will get one free.

Falling, Falling, Falling

Boise State has fallen to 4th in all major polls, TCU has jumped us (even though they don’t deserve it) in all of them to. The thing that makes me mad is how TCU gets credit for beating Utah, who shouldn’t even have been that high in the rankings, at most they should have been at 20 in the polls. Now everyone thinks that TCU is really good because they played Baylor who just got there butt handed to them by Oklahoma State. But people also think they are good because they played Utah, but we all know that Utah is not a good team at all. After the Air Force game and the TCU Game I think we learned a lot about the Utah Ute’s.

The thing about the SOS (strength of schedule) for BSU and TCU is that the Broncos have a way better strength of schedule than the Horned Frogs.

More class than the BCS

Boise State offense had a record day with 737 total yards. The Broncos beat a team that was suppose to give them a run for their money. The Warriors came into the game knocking on the door of the top 25 with WAC championship on their mind. Boise State was all business as usual with their one game at a time approach and it was once again effective.

But on this Saturday there was something else happening on the sidelines. A young boy from San Antionio stricken with a life threatening cancer was there with his dad. Young Stephen Kinsey was the “Coach for a Day” on the sidelines taking it all in. Stephen is a normal kid growing up in San Antonio, Texas with one exception he has non-Hodgkins lymphoma. The Make-A-Wish foundation called the Broncos a few weeks ago to share young Stephen’s wish – to be a coach for the day for his favorite football team; the Boise State Broncos and their Blue Turf.

Boise State schedules Michigan State

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State has agreed to a three-game football series with Michigan State, Director of Athletics Gene Bleymaier announced Friday.

The Broncos will open the 2012 season at Michigan State (Aug. 31), and the game will be televised nationally by ESPN.

“This will be another nationally-televised marquee match-up to begin the season,” Bleymaier said. “Michigan State is a premier program and we are excited about playing a Big Ten opponent.”

Boise State opened its 2009 season with a 19-8 victory over No. 16 Oregon, and also defeated No. 6 Virginia Tech (33-30) to open the 2010 season. Both games were televised nationally by ESPN.

The series will continue with Michigan State playing at Bronco Stadium Sept. 17, 2022, and the teams will again meet in East Lansing, Mich., in 2023 (Sept. 16). Boise State will receive a guarantee of $1.2 million for the 2012 game and the schools will exchange $300,000 for the games in 2022 and 2023.

The Spartans are currently ranked No. 5 in all three major polls, and their No. 5 ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings is the highest in school history.

With the agreement, the Broncos will move their game at Oregon State to Sept. 24, 2016. Boise State has also moved its 2012 game against Miami (Ohio) scheduled for Sept. 1, and will now play Sept. 15, 2012.

The Broncos’ nonconference schedule for 2012 is as follows:

Back where Kellen belongs

Kellen Moore for Heisman

Kellen Moore for Heisman

Have you seen the recent Heisman Predictions? Kellen Moore is #1 again! Where else would you have a guy whose touchdown to interception ratio is 14-1? He also plays for the #3 team in the Nation, and soon to be released BCS, which will likely have his team #1. These rankings will likely change as BSU enters conference play, but that shouldn’t take away from the facts of what Moore has done so far. He is the best player on the best team at this point in the season. Period.
