How To Loot Moving Llamas in Fortnite Season 7

How To Loot Moving Llamas in Season 7

Season 7: Invasion in Fortnite introduced changes to the map, new alien weapons, and much more. It also made the loot Llamas mobile - unexpected indeed! Here's how to get them.

Loot Llamas in Fortnite have been around for ages and they're a great source of high-tier loot. It all changed with the arrival of Season 7, as the once stationary Llamas are now moving. When you think about it, it is kind of creepy - just a llama roaming around the map, waiting for you to loot it. One thing is certain, they're harder to kill now when compared to the previous seasons.

How To Loot Moving Llamas in Season 7

Fortnite Season 7 is not all bad. The Llamas are now mobile, but they'll drop some additional loot when you first spot them. Getting close to a Llama will scare it away, so how exactly do you catch one? Easy. Just be prepared beforehand. Previously, the moment you saw a Llama at the start of the game, you were able to just rush in, destroy it and get the loot. Now, you'll have to be prepared with some, preferably automatic, weapons. Avoid using snipers and shotguns, and stick to automatic firearms.

Tips To Loot the Moving Llama Easier

Sometimes you won't be lucky enough to get a couple of automatic weapons, but worry not, you can still get that Llama! Here are some tips that'll make it all much easier:

  • The easiest way to shoot down a Llama in Fortnite is to simply squad up with a teammate.
  • Alternatively, you can show off your excellent building skills and trap the Llama, so it can't escape.
  • Is there a nearby vehicle? Hop in and ram the Llama.
  • If you found a UFO, use the beam to lift the Llama and then dismember it.

Have you caught any Loot Llamas in Season 7? Was it too challenging? Tell us on Facebook or Twitter!

Fortnite Season 7 Llamas Are Acting Real Weird

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 is here, and like the leaks, and eventually, the teases, suggested, aliens have arrived. And as you would expect many changes and additions have been made. For example, Llamas are now acting weird. While Season 7 has made minimal map changes, one change players will notice while exploring the island is that Llamas are now alive, and can run away when you try and raid them for their goodies inside.

As you can see in the video below, they have more health than they used to and are nowhere near as easy to kill. However, if you shoot them, they will slowly drip loot until their health bar is depleted, causing them to explode and spill the entire loot collection inside.

Of course, as a result, Llamas now attract more attention than ever, which makes going for them riskier than ever. Not only could players be camping them, but shooting the Llama as it runs away will attract players to your location.

At the moment of publishing, it's unclear if this change is permanent, for Season 7, or a limited-time ordeal. Whatever the case, don't be surprised when you shoot a Llama and it takes off.

As for why this is happening, it's unclear. It's obviously a feature, but narrative-wise there's been zero explanation from Epic Games. If this changes, or if Epic Games provides any more information about the aforementioned mystery, we will update the story accordingly. Fortnite Season 7 Makes Big Change to Llamas

By Noah Vaca

ShareTweetEmail

In addition to a complete overhaul of the game's battle pass, Fortnite introduces a big change to Llamas in its newest alien-themed season.

As a battle royale and a pioneer of the genre, Fortnite has always stood out for its wide appeal thanks to a more lighthearted and cartoonish design. This has also allowed the game to crossover with a wide variety of properties, from Street Fighter to Predator, and most recentl, Rick and Morty with the addition of Rick Sanchez to the new Season 7 battle pass. Fortnite has also become somewhat known for its iconic Loot Llamas.

First introduced as a loot box mechanic in Fortnite's Save the World mode, 5 Loot Llamas appear in every battle royale match, dropped in random parts of the game's map. As opposed to Supply Drops which contain often contain an array of weapons and consumables, Llamas tend to contain a great amount of building materials and ammo, in addition to consumables. However, Fortnite's newest season has made a big change to how Llamas work.

As shown in a short clip tweeted out by Fortnite news account HYPEX, Llamas appear to be "alive" now. Previously, Llamas would remain stationary like any other Chest or Supply Drop, but HYPEX's tweet shows that Llamas now act like other wildlife in the game, running away from players while occasionally dropping loot along the way. If players manage to deal enough damage to the Llama, it will then explode.

While Llamas may be more difficult to track down now, it certainly seems that finding one may be more rewarding than ever. In addition to what looks like the normal amount of loot dropped after making a Llama explode by dealing enough damage to it, the Llama in the clip drops an impressive amount of loot when being chased down. This looks to include about 5 Shield Potions, commonly referred to as "big pots" by fans, as well as an array of ammo. It is also worth noting that if players aren't quick enough in taking down a Llama, it will up and disappear in a flash of light.

Regardless, it looks like any loot dropped by the Llama as it runs away also stays on the map, so players won't have to worry about missing out on any loot during the chase. Fans have also noticed that it seems Llamas will now drop the Exotic Chug Cannon weapon as well, which players can use to heal themselves and their teammates by firing blasts of Slurp Juice.

In addition to an upcoming crossover with Superman, Fortnite Season 7: Invasion has introduced players to a war against aliens, new high-tech IO weapons like the Pulse Rifle and Recon Scanner, as well as a completely reworked battle pass system. The new season isn't set to end until September, so players have plenty of time to hop in and enjoy all of the new changes to the game.

Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

From fortnite llama

Loot Llamas have come to life in Fortnite Season 7, making their massive resource caches a bit tougher to obtain, but with some guidance, you'll be chasing them down like scenes from a nature documentary. Here's what you need to know about new Living Loot Llamas.

How To Catch Living Loot Llamas

Loot Llamas are on the move in Fortnite Season 7.

Coming upon a Loot Llama in Fortnite is always a momentous occasion due to its rarity and its plentiful loot inside. In past seasons, you'd merely have to approach a Loot Llama and interact with it for a few seconds. The only risk was leaving yourself exposed to enemy fire for a brief moment. The Llama itself was a stationary piñata. But that's not the case in Fortnite Season 7. Now you'll need to chase them, because as soon as you get close, they will take off running.

Fortunately, these new Living Loot Llamas drop loot every few feet as they dash away, so if you're satisfied with what they've already, uh, let's say deposited, you can end your pursuit there, but it benefits you greatly to chase them down further. Loot Llamas have a lot of HP, so you'll want to pour into it with whatever you've got for weapons. Similar to sharks, it's going to take a few clips--and ideally some teamwork--to bust the Loot Llama open.

One trick you can use to make it a bit easier is to run the Llama over with a vehicle. It will do a bit of damage right away, but more helpful than that, it will stun the Llama for a few seconds, letting you get in close or at least not have to shoot at a moving target.

I really want to Chug Jug with you.

Once you've finally eliminated the Living Loot Llama, a bundle of loot will explode out of it just like the classic Loot Llamas. Included in the loot seems to be a guaranteed Chug Cannon, as every Loot Llama we've defeated so far in Season 7 has dropped one.

Similar to the Bandage Bazooka, the Chug Cannon lets players shoot healing bursts of Slurp Juice, which can heal both your health and shields to their limits. It operates on a cooldown timer and takes up two inventory slots to keep it balanced, because it's really a great item to have, especially in team play where you can fire it at allies from a distance and heal them immediately.

There's no one particular spot you can reliably find Loot Llamas, as their appearance on the map in any given round seems totally random. But when you come upon one, just remember to work as a team to take its HP down to 0 and give it a good bonk with your car or truck (or UFO) if you're able to. Then, like any piñata at a child's birthday party, make a mad dash for the goodies inside once it's exploded.

We've got plenty more to help you with Fortnite Season 7, including a Superman primer, the full list of Week 1 challenges, and an explainer on the new Alien Artifacts.

Where are the best Fortnite llama locations?

Discovering one of the Fortnite llamas during a battle royale match is a welcome sight, because these rare and iconic piñatas are found few and far between out in the wild, even though they've become the most widely recognised icon of the game. When you encounter one now it'll suddenly spring to life and bound away from you, so you'll need to chase after the unexpectedly mobile creature while a stream of ammo and items spill out of it, and if you deal enough damage before it teleports away then a haul of supplies will be yours. The game officially refers to these caches as 'Supply Llamas', and their bright purple coloring should make them unmissable when one is nearby.

Unlike the Supply Drops that are parachuted in as Fortnite matches progress, Supply Llamas are present from the very beginning of the round and can be stashed anywhere on the island – even up trees! Originally there were only three Fortnite llamas per match, but this has been subsequently increased to five to give slightly better odds of discovering one. Although these locations are basically random for every match, some players believe that certain areas are more like to yield this reward than others. We've investigated and identified the best Fortnite llama locations, or at least the places we had success in finding them – though do bear in mind that they pop up across the island at random.

These are some of the Fortnite llama locations that have worked for us during our matches – though they can pop up anywhere, so if you happen to find any others then why not let us know in the comments. Make sure you have a decent ranged weapon and plenty of ammo prior to your approach, for the best chance of taking down the llama before it escapes. Good luck, and happy hunting!

The easiest way to catch Llamas in Fortnite Season 7

Towards the end of Fortnite Season 6, resident leakers HYPEX began informing the community about radical changes that Epic Games were making to llamas in-game. While there was some speculation of it being a rumor at first, players soon began to see live llamas in Fortnite.

Following the alien invasion in Fortnite Season 7, it would seem that the llamas in-game sprung to life, and rather than being inanimate objects, they now move about and frantically try to escape from players who get too close.

While the loot drop mechanics and content are still the subject of debate, it goes without saying that the rework was indeed amazing.

Due to their ability to move fast, players are finding it tough to hunt down llamas and deal enough damage to get to the loot inside. To make matters worse, they teleport away after a certain amount of time, leaving the player without loot.

With that being said, this article will provide some llama-catching tips and tricks for players to try out in-game to ensure that no llama gets away without dropping all their loot.

How to efficiently catch llamas in Fortnite

There are three main ways to catch llamas in Fortnite Season 7. Each of them has its pros and cons, and may or may not be feasible given certain circumstances. Nonetheless, this article discusses all possible ways to effectively capture llamas in-game.

1) The sneaky method

One of the simplest ways to catch a llama in Fortnite is to sneak up behind it and build a box. This method is good for players who can build fast, and are proficient with building structures in-game.

  • Pros: Fast, and simple. Requires only materials to do.
  • Cons: Llama may escape while the box is being built.

2) The hit and box method

While llamas are fast, they can't outrun vehicles in Fortnite. Rather than trying to chase a llama on foot, players can run them down, which will render them dazed for a few seconds. Players can make use of that time window to build a box around them that prevents their escape.

  • Pros: Gives players time to build a box.
  • Cons: Players need to find a car before trying this method.

3) The alien drop method

Rather than engaging llamas on foot or in a car, abducting them is the best option to stop them from escaping. Players will need to find an alien saucer, commandeer it, and then look for a llama. Once found, set the flying saucer down, build a box, get back on the saucer, and abduct the llama. Once abducted, drop the llama into the box.

  • Pros: Catch rate is at 100% using this method.
  • Cons: Players need to find an alien saucer.
