Paying Property and Real Estate Taxes in Boone County, Arkansas
After making your assessment in Boone County, taxes become due and payable from March 1st to October 15th the following year. Taxes are paid 1 year behind in the State of Arkansas.
Statements are to be mailed out by July 1st of each year. If you move, it is your responsibility to notify us of your new address. Not receiving a statement does not excuse you from paying your taxes or being assessed late penalties/interest.
You may choose to receive your statement electronically. Contact 870-741-6646 to update to an email copy.
You can make partial payments on current taxes only. Personal Property must be paid in full prior to Real Estate Taxes.

The accepted payment method is with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover credit card, or an eCheck. (An eCheck is a method of debiting the funds electronically from your checking account just as you would write a check)
The total amount will be adjusted to allow for the electronic processing of the transaction through the state's eGovernment service provider, Arkansas.gov.
Processing Fee is charged by Arkansas.gov and no part of the fee is remitted to the Boone County Collector.
Your taxes will be delinquent after October 15th and you will receive a 10% penalty after that date. If your Real Estate taxes become 2 years delinquent they will be certified to the State of Arkansas and can only be redeemed through the Commissioner of State Lands.

THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE IS LOCATED AT 3000 CONRAD LANE IN BURLINGTON, KENTUCKY.
- The Sheriff’s Office is open Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For the convenience of the taxpayers, Sheriff Helmig will have his office open on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to Noon during the month of October.
- Make checks payable to Boone County Sheriff, Michael A. Helmig for the exact amount due as indicated on the front of your bill. Payments must be made in full; we cannot accept partial payments.
- Remember to include the remittance portion of your bill.
- There will be a $50.00 fee for ALL CHECKS RETURNED for any reason (i.e. insufficient funds, closed accounts, etc.).
- For your convenience, you can now Pay Your Tax Bill Online. We accept credit and debit cards (subject to transaction fee of 2.5% +.30) as well as e–checks (.50 transaction fee).

Taxable Value of Your Property
If you have questions about the assessed or taxable value of your property, please contact the PVA Office at (859) 334-2181, or visit the Boone County PVA Website
If you wish to dispute the assessed value of your property you may do so online from October 1st–May 1st at Boone County PVA Appeals or you may call or e–mail to set up a conference at either (859) 334–4817 or [email protected] Once you submit your information someone from the PVA office will contact you to hold a conference. Any taxpayer desiring to appeal an assessment on real property made by the PVA must first have a conference with the PVA office.
Homestead or Disability Exemption
If you are or will be 65 years of age during this current year, own and occupy this home as your primary residence, and the homestead exemption amount of $40,500 does not appear on the front of your tax bill, please contact the PVA Office at (859) 334‑2181, before paying your tax bill.
If you are 100% totally and permanently disabled, receiving disability benefits, own and occupy this home as your primary residence, and the disability exemption amount of $40,500 does not appear on the front of your tax bill, please contact the PVA Office at (859) 334–2181, before paying your tax bill. PLEASE NOTE: Disabled persons younger than 65 years of age must apply annually for this exemption with the exception of service-related disabled veterans of the United States Armed Forces.

Pay at the Treasurer’s Office
The Boone County Treasurer’s Office is the collection agency for Boone County Tax Revenue. Office hours are 8am – 4pm, Monday through Friday. Courthouse offices are closed on legal holidays and Election Day. Our office is located on the second floor of the historic County Courthouse in downtown Lebanon. In office payment options: Cash, Personal Checks, Cashier Checks, Certified Checks, Money Orders. Credit/Debit card payments are only accepted on our website – see the MAKE A PAYMENT link below.
Pay by mail
Mail must be postmarked by the due date. Postmark does not mean the date printed by a postage meter that affixes postage to the envelope or package per IC 6-1.1-37.10. Returned, delayed, lost, or mis-directed mail may become delinquent. Please ensure the mailing address is complete and accurate, obtain proof of mailing date, and use the correct amount of postage. OPTIONS FOR PAYING YOUR PROPERTY TAXES
At your bank: All of the banks in Boone County accept property tax payments on our behalf. Click here for a list of bank locations. Bring your entire bill if you want it stamped to show proof of payment.
By mail: Send your check with the payment stub to the Boone County Treasurer at the address above. Your payment must be postmarked on or before the due date.
Online bill pay: If your bank offers online bill payment, enter your property number as the vendor account number so we can properly record your payment. We cannot be responsible for payments received with no property number reference.
Online by credit card, debit card or e-check: Click here to go to the shopping cart. Convenience fees of up to 2.5% will be added to your total at checkout. We cannot accept credit/debit cards in our office or by phone.
At our office in the Boone County Administration Campus, 1212 Logan Avenue, Belvidere, IL (cash, check, cashier’s check or money order) office hours are 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday. Bring your entire bill if you want it stamped to show proof of payment.
Drop box: If you can’t make it to the Treasurer’s Office by closing time, just drop your payment in the envelope depository on the east side of the building after hours. Please use an envelope and include the payment stub.
